Register with Scouting America

Complete a BSA youth application for your child. You'll pay BSA national registration ($85) and Pacific Skyline Council registration ($85) for the next 12 months. Optional: add Scout Life magazine for $15.

Returning Scouts: BSA bills 12 months from your last registration, so you may not owe anything yet.

Pay Pack 14 dues

Pack dues ($175) cover awards, patches, den activities, volunteer registration, and official pack events. Program year runs August 1 – May 31. Joining after August? Dues are prorated at $18/month remaining. Learn more in the FAQs.

Submit health forms

BSA requires annual health forms for all participants — Scouts, adults, and siblings attending activities. Complete Parts A and B, attach a copy of your insurance card, and hand the completed form to your den leader.

Join Scoutbook

You'll receive an email invitation to Scoutbook after registering. Your scout's progress and achievements are tracked here — take a few minutes to set up your account.

Gather your gear

Lions need the Lion T-shirt. All other dens need a Cub Scout uniform shirt, neckerchief, and slide. Pants, shorts, and hats are optional. Don't forget a water bottle and den handbook!
